REO Speedwagon Rocks in Junefest at Sunset Station

Scary Monsters Music headed back to Sunset Station Amphitheater for the 2nd weekend in a row, only this time it was a bit warmer as the temps were hovering around 98 degrees. REO Speedwagon took the stage at 9pm sharp and opened their show with a thunderous "Don't Let Him Go" followed by "Keep Pushin" and Keep On Lovin You" and had the crowd on their feet!

REO Speedwagon was formed way back in 1967, and the band has sold more than 40 million records and charted thirteen top 40 hits. Even after 50 years as a band they sold out the Sunset Station Amphitheater on this night for annual Junefest. REO is Kevin Cronin - vocals, Dave Amato on guitar, Bruce Hall - bass, Neal Doughty on keyboards and Bryan Hitt on drums.

In the middle of the set singer Kevin Cronin did a couple acoustic songs, and he gave a brief talk, speaking that he has "never seen our nation more divided, and even after playing all over the world in some amazing places there is no place like the golden place, the good old USA, and that we need to come together as one people for the good of all". This brought a standing ovation from the sold out crowd as the band then launched into "Building the Bridge", "Time For me To Fly", "Back On the Road Again" and finally the classic "Ridin the Storm Out", and the band exited the stage, only to return and encore with "Keep On Lovin You". Closing out the night with "Roll With the Changes" was the end of another great show by one of the all time classic rock bands REO Speedwagon.
