This was a rare Sunday concert at the Joint at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas for the Apocalyptica Plays Metallica By Four Cellos Anniversary Tour. Apocalyptica consists of 4 talented cello players from Helsinki, Finland who brought their distinct brand of metal to the Las Vegas stage - two sets of all Metallica songs, which is sorta strange but amazing to hear played entirely by cellos. Apocalyptica consists of Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lotjonen, Perttu Kivilaakso and Mikko Siren.
The show started off with the Metallica classic song "Enter Sandman", followed by "Master of Puppets", and they continued with Metallica songs old and new including "Harvester of Sorrows", "The Unforgiven", "Sad But True", "Creeping Death", "Wherever I May Roam" and concluding with "Welcome Home".
The band then took a 30 minute break and returned to the stage and opened the 2nd set with "Fade To Black", followed by "For Whom the Bell Tolls", a speedier "Fight Fire With Fire", "Until It Sleeps", "Orion", "Escape", "Battery", and ending with classic "Seek and Destroy". Apocalyptica performed a 2 song encore consisting of "Nothing Else Matters" and "One", an interesting show to say the least.
