BAD COP / BAD COP, GO BETTY GO, THE VENOMOUS PINKS, GLAM SKANKS Make it Girls Night at Beauty Bar L

This was a slightly different type of night at the Beauty Bar, the show was comprised of 4 all female bands, and all 4 were really outstanding! Opening the show was a band out of Los Angeles who stated they can “cock-rock harder than most guys ever will”! GLAM SKANKS are a colorful band who play songs reminiscent of the 'glam' era of rock and roll. Glam Skanks are V Witkin - Lead Guitar/Vocals, Vanessa Vonlust- Lead Vocals, Millie Chan-Bass/Vocals and Cassie Jalilie-Drums - a fun band who play up the part of their name.

Unlike the glitzy Glam Skanks, the next band looked like a tough all-girl band who would not hesitate to kick your ass if you get in their way. THE VENOMOUS PINKS are an all girl band punk band with a touch of hard rock and were one of the crowd favorites. This band got the first mosh pit of the night going and kept playing in-your-face music their entire set. The Venomous Pinks is the real deal, and consists of Drea Doll - Jukie - Gaby Kaos and Miranda Duffy. During their set the band would play bits of bands like Slayer, Joan Jett and Quiet Riot , then jumping back into the punk music that the crowd expected. A great band that should be playing Vegas more often!

Next a band that reminded me of an early Go Go’s, out of Los Angeles was GO BETTY GO, a party band who just kept getting better and better. It’s hard to believe this band has been together for 18 years now as they still look like they are all in their early 20’s. Go Betty Go is led by sisters Aixa and Nicolette Vilar, with Michelle Rangel and Betty Cisneros, and are an all-Latina pop-punk band with singer Nicolette Vilar prancing and dancing around the stage flashing her infectious smile to the delight of the crowd, and at one point stated that in her 18 years of touring this is the first (tour) that featured all females on it. When not touring Nicolette is a graphic designer who does all the bands art and stuff . Go Betty Go is really good band we hoop to see again soon!

A band we first saw at the Van’s Warped Tour last summer was the headliner on the lineup, southern California's BAD COP / BAD COP gave the night some real grrl power. Compared to the other bands of the night they are a more pure rock band with some pop thrown in, and is another band who gets better and better each time we see them as they tour behind their second album Warriors out on Fat Wreck Chords. Bad Cop / Bad Cop mix powerful solid punk tunes with clean harmonious vocals for that pop edge. Led by Stacey Dee - Vocals/Guitar, Jennie Cotterill - Vocals/Guitar, Myra Gallarza - Drums and Linh Le - Bass/Vocals, Bad Cop Bad Cop is a solid band with a bright future.
