Red Sun Rising with EMDF and Them Evils Rock Sunday Night at Beauty Bar LV

You would be hard pressed to find a band that has released only two studio albums yet has had as much commercial and radio success as Akron, Ohio’s own RED SUN RISING. Las Vegas got a real taste as to why at the Beauty Bar downtown on April 9th when RED SUN RISING headlined with support from THEM EVILS and EMDF.

Las Vegas locals EMDF, or Embrace my Darkest Fears to their friends, kicked off the show and showed why they are one of the most sought out bands on the local scene. They have recently released some new music on Youtube and I suggest you check it out if you have not already.

THEM EVILS provided the direct support on the evening. They may be known as a southern California rock band, but we here in Las Vegas are well aware that both Jordan Griffin and Jake Massanari grew up and attended high school right here in Las Vegas before joining forces and heading to L.A.. THEM EVILS are a three piece with an incredible blues rock sound that bring nothing short of high energy each time they take the stage. Las Vegas was familiar with songs from the EP such as “Untold” and THEM EVILS seemed like the perfect supporting act.

Akron, Ohio rockers RED SUN RISING was the headliner on this Sunday evening and as mentioned before, they have released only two records to date, Polyester Zeal in 2015 and the recently released Thread. Polyester Zeal received much critical acclaim and huge commercial success, and Thread seems well on the way to doing the same. You could tell by the way the crowd sung along with the songs just how much radio play these guys have achieved. What I liked so much about this show is how they seemed to mix up the songs from both releases in almost a back and forth order. Every time you got hit with the wildly popular songs from Polyester Zeal such as “Amnesia”, “Emotionless” or “The Other Side”, it was followed up by songs like “Fascination” or “Deathwish” from Thread, the latter being one of the most played songs currently on the rock station, KOMP 92.3.

Sunday evening may not be thought of as the most happening time here in town, but this Sunday evening had more than enough enjoyment for the local crowd that made their way down to the beauty bar to see what turned out to be one high energy show!
