PRONG and Powerflo played their second to last show on their West Coast Zero Days 2018 run at the Backstage Bar & Billiards, two hard hitting power metal forces that came together for a helluva show and a treat in the small venue on Fremont Street in Las Vegas.
LA's Powerflo combines the hip hop, punk and metal influences of their lineup, a powerhouse cast with Sen Dog from Cypress Hill, Billy Grazaidei of Boihazard, ex-Fear Factory bassist Cristian Olde Wolbers, guitarist Rogelio “Ray” Lozano, and drummer Fernando Schaefer - a combination for the power in the Powerflo. The energy is high and the pace frenzied for the set, solid metal in your face and with cuts from their self titled 2017 release including a rousing "Victim of Circumstance".
New York's PRONG headlined the night, the power trio got a late start at almost 1am, but the crowd never wavered and as soon as the band walked on the stage the energy and excitement was heavy in the air. Along with Art Cruz on drums and Jason Christopher on Bass, vocalist and guitarist Tommy Victor jumped and snarled through a song lineup that included old and new, from opening "Forced Into Tolerance" and "Divide and Conquer" from the new Zero Days cd to expected fan faves "Revenge...Best Served Cold", "Beg to Differ" and "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck". Metal at its finest with a great crowd and even some fists in the air from Vegas rockers Vinnie Paul (Hellyeah) and Chris Kael (5FDP) who were spotted in the crowd.
