MISERY WILL FIND YOU TOUR: THE AMITY AFFLICTION & SENSES FAIL with SILENT PLANET and BELMONT at

The second night of the Misery Will Find You Tour rolled into the top rated Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas on a rainy January 5, 2019, but the weather did not put a damper on the show - this being an all ages event the venue was packed with fans lining up early to get a coveted spot up front near the stage. The show had an early start time with doors opening at 6:30pm, and hitting the stage first was the band BELMONT from Chicago IL, who is def a band for the younger crowd, and was well received by those who arrived early to catch the opening set. Belmont describe themselves as a pop-punk band, and stated the last time they played Vegas "it was a house party".

A very interesting band called SILENT PLANET was next, a progressive metalcore band from Azusa Ca, and listening to this band's sounds you catch a glimpse of a young Rage Against the Machine. Silent Planet sings of social issues and planetary problems and at times incorporates biblical references in their songs. This band is raw, young, and very good.

SENSES FAIL is an old school Vans Warped band who has risen through the ranks, despite many numerous lineup changes and was a huge hit for the night with the crowd singing and crowd surfing throughout their set. The highlight of their show and where they really got heavy was when they did a covers medley that included "Chop Suey", "Bodies", "Break Stuff" and "Bulls on Parade". Senses Fail is described as a post hardcore sounding band, but compared to Amity Affliction who were on next they came off as more of a pop act, and put on a great set.

Headlining the show was AMITY AFFLICTION who hail from Australia, and it is amazing that singer Joel Birch even has a voice after the way he belts out song after song at 200 percent. This is another Vans Warped veteran, and one of the better ones. The Amity Affliction is touring in support of it’s sixth album titled Misery, and the show opened with a track off the new album titled “Drag the Lake”. Joel Birch stalks the stage, moving back and forth nonstop and encouraging the crowd to open up the pit and show him what they got. Crowd surfers were nonstop and even included a guy in a wheelchair. This band is in your face and unapologetic, and a must see on this tour, and were by far the best band of the night.
