GODSMACK Hit 1000HP for UFC Fight Week in Vegas at the Joint

It was a big Fourth of July weekend in Las Vegas and there was more than just fireworks in the sky, as Boston rockers GODSMACK brought some indoor explosions and fire as they rocked the Joint for the Official UFC International Fight Week Concert. This also came as a precursor show to their 2019 summer tour starting July 12 that has dates already through October of the year (dates and tickets at https://www.godsmack.com/tour ).

As the Godsmack logo curtain dropped the crowd roared, “When Legends Rise” from the bands most recent album got the set started, with vocalist Sully Erna taking center stage backed by Tony Rombola (guitar) Robbie Merril (bass) and Shannon Larkin (drums). “1000hp” gave the

show its fiery kickoff, with pyro and flames flying across the stage for a complete adrenaline rush, and the fans screamed the lyrics along with Erna for a powerful start. “Say My Name” rounded out the first three, before the pounding “Keep Away” got 4000 heads in attendance banging in synch.

Godsmack played a rounded set of hits and faves, and included the famed Erna/Larkin drum battle and cover medley to finish out the main set. After a quick exit, Erna took center stage to talk briefly

about the SCARS Foundation he has established to help raise awareness of issues surrounding mental health, before launching to the track “Under Your Scars” from which the foundation takes its name.

Godsmack then pounded out an extended encore that included “Bulletproof” and a kick ass “Rocky Mountain Way” before their finale of the night with the blockbuster hit “I Stand Alone”.
