PSYCHO LAS VEGAS 2019 DAY 3 with The Misfits, Carcass, Clutch, Mark Lanegan and More...

Saturday at Psycho Las Vegas brought out the big guns and a big headliner with The Original Misfits. This year it was announced that Megadeth would headline the festival, but they had to cancel due to leader Dave Mustaine being diagnosed with throat cancer and cancelling their touring dates for a while. The MISFITS were a great catch, and the fans seemed to be excited to see the legendary punk band fill the spot. This year Psycho added several punk acts, and seemed to brach out a little from the expected metal and doom lineups we have gotten used to. The one downfall is The Misfits don't allow any cameras, so we can't show ya what happened, but we do have an array of photos from some of the other bands that kicked some ass throughout Saturday.

In the lounge they started off around 1pm and continued until 2:30 am, and the band lineup included LEVITATION ROOM, DANAVA,  MONOPHONICS, NIGHT HORSE and LED ZEPPELIN 2.

Out at the Mandalay Bay Beach it was BLACK MOUNTAIN, MARK LANEGAN, ORANSSI PAZUZU, THE FAINT and THE BLACK ANGELS to keep everyone occupied in the sun and surf.  Inside the HOB it was MORK, TOMB MOLD, DVNE, SOFT KILL, GRAILS, TOBACCO, FULL OF HELL and THE OBSESSED keeping the mosh pits going. Mandalay Bay Arena hosted OLD MAN GLOOM, TRIUMPH OF DEATH, CARCASS, CLUTCH and then THE ORIGINAL MISFITS as the mainstay headliner for the festival.

Some of the bands we covered that really impressed us were Vocalist Mark Lanegan (of Seattle's Screaming Trees) and was also a member of Queens of the Stoneage. Triumph Of Death also wowed us in their only US tour date - Tom G Warrior's band, whose lineup also includes Mia Wallace, Alessandro Commerio, and André Mathieu and is based on the title of a Hellhammer demo (Triump of Death) and plays all Hellhammer material.

Carcass was the first band who got the fans really riled up, and a huge mosh pit opened up shortly after their set started. Carcass is hard and fast metal, and a fan favorite at Psycho Las Vegas. The last band on the main stage before The Misfits took over the finale was Clutch, a stoner / blues band that is always great to see and puts on an amazing show.

Inside at the House of Blues I caught the electronic duo Tobacco, an interesting act to see play Psycho. They were not what you would usually see at this type of festival, a more techno sound, but they were really good and had those who ventured inside the HOB intrigued by what they heard. Tobacco has opened for Nine Inch Nails, and listening to their music you can see they would be a perfect match. They were the sleeper act of the day and one I was glad I caught.

Day 3 of Psycho Las Vegas came to an end, we headed for the door to get something to eat and get some rest - one more day to go!
