“SUMMER GODS 2019 TOUR” with THIRD EYE BLIND, JIMMY EAT WORLD, and RA RA RIOT

The Summer Gods 2019 Tour rolled into Las Vegas to a SOLD OUT Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Hotel & Casino, a co-headlining tour featuring Third Eye Blind along with Jimmy Eat World with support from Ra Ra Riot. With these bands come some of the biggest hits of the 90’s and 2000’s including "Losing A Whole Year", "Semi - Charmed Life" and "In the Middle".

Opening the show was RA RA RIOT out of Syracuse, NY, an indie rock band consists of vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, guitarist Milo Bonacci, violinist Rebecca Zeller and drummer Kenny Bernard. The band is touring in anticipation of their 5th CD, to be released on August 9th and titled Superbloom, and was a great addition to the Summer Gods Lineup.

JIMMY EAT WORLD had a major breakthrough with the release of 2001’s Bleed American which charted 4 singles in the top 20 with "The Middle" reaching all the way up to #1/ The band is from Mesa, AZ and features lead guitarist/lead vocalist Jim Adkins, drummer Zach Lind, rhythm guitarist/vocalist Tom Linton, and bassist Rick Burch. Jimmy Eat World is an alternative rock band that the crowd loved - they were on their feet the minute they hit the stage until the very last song. Jimmy Eat World is one of those fun bands that every now and then you just need a heavy dose of to remind you that music does not always have to be so gloomy

THIRD EYE BLIND made their return to the stage, and as the lights went down and the intro music played, the band took to the stage with blazing white lights behind them standing on two long platforms across the stage at the Pearl. Lead singer Stephen Jenkins took his place center stage wearing a hoodie which he wore for the first few songs, and with the huge amount of smoke and white lights the band looked like silhouettes onstage for most of the show. Besides having two long platforms, the stage also had two large white LED pyramid shapes on each side, and over head angled at 45 degrees were two light trusses with both large and small LEDs. The background had five large looking skyscrapers which changed color as the show went on.

THIRD EYE BLIND kicked off the show with the song "Screamer" off their upcoming CD scheduled for October 25th release, and played "The Kids Are Coming" followed by the quirky "Never Let You Go". As the lighting changed from white to deep blue, the band kicked into "Back To Zero" followed by "Graduate", before things slowed down with Stephen playing a couple acoustic songs before the band rejoined him. They played "Jumper", which had the crowd singing along as Stephen explained that we are all one big family, and to turn around and say hi to the person behind you... Third Eye Blind finished off their set with "How’s It Gonna Be", with the crowd was cheering loudly as they left the stage for a brief moment, before returning with two of their biggest hits "Losing A Whole Year" and then "Semi - Charmed Life". A great night of hits in one of the best venues in the city.
