Skid Row with Kix Comes to The Club at the Cannery Las Vegas

Rock n' Roll is supposed to be fun and Saturday night May 13th at The Club at The Cannery two of the most fun bands out there thrilled a packed house on a beautiful Las Vegas night. The Club rolled up the back doors on the building and opened the venue to the outdoor area where fans sat up close or enjoyed the lawn under the stars for the evenings entertainment. Many celebrity rock n' rollers were in attendance with sightings of Alex Grossi (Quiet Riot) and Dario Lorina (Black Label Society) among others. First up for the night was the Baltimore band KIX, and the boys started the show off with "Wheels in Motion" and went straight into "Girl Money", and from there the crowd was on their feet for the rest of the show. Half way through their set the band slowed things down with the popular " Don't Close Your Eyes", and closing things out they had the crowd jumping and screaming for more as they played thier their hit "Blow My Fuse". KIX once again showed why even after 30+ years they can still deliver a great show!

Headliners SKID ROW took the stage next, and my first time seeing them with ex-Dragonforce singer ZP Theart. Theart has a very impressive rock star presence onstage with long dark curly hair and booming vocals, and is a great fit in a band that has had its fair share of singers. The band kicked off the show with one of their biggest hits "Slave To The Grind" which gave Theart a chance to show the crowd that he is a perfect choice. The band kept the train a' rolling with hits such as "18 and Life" and "Piece of Me", then heading down the stretch Theart took a break and exited the stage while bass player Rachel Bolan and the band launched into their tribute to The Ramones playing "Psycho Therapy". Theart returned to the stage and the band finished off the night with three monster hits "Monkey Business", "I Will Remember You" and "Youth Gone Wild". Not wanting to leave even after the house lights went up the crowd kept chanting for more, but it was not to be. Las Vegas hosted what could actually be the official start of the busiest Vegas Rock n' Roll summer we have ever seen and Scary Monsters Music will be out there full force in the weeks to come!
