Fremont Summer Series 4th of July Rock n' Roll Weekend with Ann Wilson of Heart

The 2017 Downtown Rocks FREE Summer Concert Series continued up on the 1st street stage on Fremont and it's third show of the summer, with one of the most legendary voices in the history of rock n roll. Ann Wilson of Heart brought her current solo tour to downtown Las Vegas for the Fourth of July long weekend celebration. The moment your hear Wilson's voice you immediately flashback through all the years of hits that she and Heart created. This night was not all about Heart though, but a retrospective of great bands and their music that influenced her career, heavy on songs from The Who and was surprisingly absent of any songs by Led Zeppelin. Kicking off the show Ann opened with the Who's classic song "The Real Me" then one of the greatest rock songs ever Heart's "Barracuda", followed by another Heart classic "Crazy On You". Slowing things down Ann showed her range on the songs "Fool No More" and "Anguish".This show was mostly covers with Ann singing the Black Crowes hit "She Talks To Angels" and then going way back to a hit by the great Eric Burdon and the Animals "We Gotta Get Out of This Place", Then back to The Who with Ann belting out "Won't Get Fooled Again". Once again she sang another monster Heart hit "Alone", then closed out her set with The Who classic "Love Reign Over Me". Ann and the band exited the stage very briefly returning to a thunderous ovation from the huge crowd, and for the encore Ann sang a song by a band that is a personal favorite of mine, Buffalo Springfield's hit "For What It's Worth". With the crowd cheering for more Ann Wilson and her band took a final bow and said their goodbyes and exited the stage.

Fremont Street once again hosted another legend in their FREE Summer of 2017 concert series. Next time its the 90's American rock band Good Charlotte on June 22nd!!
