THEM EVILS with TAKING DAWN and DANGER LOVE at BEAUTY BAR LV

This was a night of good old pure rock'n roll, and it also marked the first time THEM EVILS has headlined a show here at Beauty Bar and Las Vegas. We at SMM caught their last show at the Beauty Bar just two months ago and were highly impressed by this band and are glad to see them making Vegas a regular stop!

Opening the show was a young local band by the name of DANGER LOVE, very entertaining on what I believe was only their second show. Vegas needs more rock bands like this and we look forward to covering how this band progresses through their young career.

Next up it was the return of the Vegas band TAKING DAWN, and this town has sorely missed seeing them in the last few years. Taking Dawn really brought an energy to the show that was so intense that the stage could barely contain them. They are the real deal with face melting shredding from lead guitarist Chris Babbitt and guitarist Steven Anderson, and Andrew Cushing on bass, and Duniel Puente on drums. As their set wound down singer Chris Babbitt stepped back and then unexpectedly took a running leap off the stage into the crowd, it is amazing he didn’t break his neck but like a true rock star he kept right on playing as the crowd swarmed around him. If you get a chance we highly recommend seeing this band live now that they are back in the Vegas rotation.

Headlining the show we had the return of THEM EVILS, a trio that is quickly becoming a local favorite in Las Vegas, with two of the members having some Vegas roots here. Based out of Southern California, Them Evils is comprised of former Vegas locals Jordan Griffin on guitars/vocals and Jake Massanari on bass along with David Delaney II on drums. Them Evils has toured the US relentlessly the past 4 years, opening for bands such as The Pretty Reckless and Zakk Sabbath, and for this night it was another showing of their brand of good old hard rocking music. Them Evils is influenced by acts such as AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, and the band covered an AC/DC classic "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" which got the crowd raising their horns high while singing along. Their setlist included original songs such as "Untold", "She Got Nothin'" and "Got Me Rockin" from their sophomore release Rollin' Stoned and Livin' Free. For a first time headlining, the band drew a good sized crowd that I am sure will only continue to grow as this band heads up the rock n roll ladder.
