CODE RED RIOT rocked the Backstage Bar & Billiards with a record release party for their first album Mask, and also the first show of their new midwest tour.
Opening the show was local rockers BIPOLAR, who was a heavy hitting lead-in for the night with their more metal influenced sound, and vocalist Charlie belted out the songs to a crowd that could headbang with the best of them, and provided an intense and powerful set. Bipolar is a standard on the Vegas local metal scene as of late, and you can follow them HERE .
CODE RED RIOT is the creation of Corky Gainsford (former Otherwise and Blueman Group drummer ) who decided to breakout onto the front line as vocalist for this project that has been in the works for the last year or so. The first single “Living Low” was release in 2017, and Sony Red Music picked up the band shortly after.
The debut album Mask is something Gainsford wrote and playing almost all of the instruments himself, until he brought aboard Taz Azure for the guitar work to complete the record. Mask is a straight forward hard rock, and the band is a high energy, hair flying, hard hitting - full-on in motion live. We had seen the band early in the life at last years Las Rageous festival, and Code Red Riot is now going out on the road headlining through the end of July, and then will pick up again in September and October for more dates. The BB&B show was a fun night and a great kickoff for their tour, with lots of local fans and fellow musicians turning out for the send off, including several Blueman Group alumni and Chris Kael of 5FDP.
