SEETHER returned to Las Vegas and brought their Poison the Parish Tour to the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, and with them on this tour was 10 Years and The Dead Deads, and the venue was packed wall to wall - upper balcony was packed - downstairs was standing room only for an all ages show so it started earlier than usual with doors at 6pm.
The show kicked off with The DEAD DEADS from Nashville who were playing their first time in Vegas, who describe themselves as "A surreal mix of post-grunge hard rock, classic heavy metal, and classic punk, coupled with showmanship that would make Alice Cooper blush." Their name came about from their early days as a Dead Milkmen cover band, and the bands signature look of black crosses over their eyes are also reminiscent of the Dead Milkmen era. The Dead Deads have opened up for bands such as POD, Evanescence and Chevelle, and this was their second time going out with Seether.
10 YEARS was formed back in 1999 and have been going strong ever since. The band consists of Jesse Hasek (lead vocals), Brian Vodinh (drums, guitar, backing vocals), Chad Grennor (bass guitar), Matt Wantland (guitar) and Kyle Mayer (drums), and 10 Years opened their set with "Shoot It Out" followed by one of their latest efforts "Vampires", before the crowd fave "Fix Me". In the middle of their set the band did a very haunting version of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box", and with eerie red flashing lighting this song really grabbed the crowd's attention. 10 Years closed out their show with a rousing version of Panteras "I’m Broken" as their tribute to the late Vinnie Paul who lived here in Vegas, and finished off their set with "Wasteland". A really great powerful set by 10 Years.
SEETHER has always been a popular band here in Vegas, and the fans that packed the venue showed their appreciation once again. Seether opened their show with "Stoke the Fire", and their hit "Gasoline", and their light show is insane with spots swirling back and forth non stop all night. Seether continued with one of their best songs "Words As Weapons", and the set also included the songs "Fine Again", "Broken" and closed out their show with "Remedy". It was another great night at House of Blues with 3 fantastic touring bands. Thanks to LiveNation and the HOB for keeping it real in Las Vegas.
