3 Doors Down & Collective Soul Bring Rock & Roll Express to the Pearl

3 Doors Down & Collective Soul brought their Rock & Roll Express Tour to Las Vegas September 7th to the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Hotel & Casino. This tour has 36 stops, and between the bands they have 30 million albums sold and 12 iconic hits - 3 Doors Down is a grammy nominated band with over 20 million albums sold just by themselves. Collective Soul rose to fame in the 90’s and have a slew of #1 hits to their credit. This is a tour that is heavily pro-Americana, as evidenced by the American flags on the stage and the fact that 3 Doors Down performs at their own charity event called The Better Life Foundation Concert, which had donated over $3 million to veterans', children's and women's humanitarian relief efforts around the globe.

The Vegas stop was another in a great run of concerts at the newly renovated Pearl Theater this season. The room was packed, and Collective Soul took to the stage about 8:15, opening the show with "Now’s the Time" followed by "Over me", and the crowd broke into a loud cheer as singer Ed Roland went over to the keyboards, sat down and starting playing the opening chords to their monster hit "Shine". The rest of their set was non stop hits, and we could hear the crowd cheering after each song all the way out to the lobby.

After a 20 minute intermission it was now time for 3 Doors Down, and as the lights dimmed the entire venue rose to their feet in anticipation. The band opened the show with "Duck and Run" and "Time of my Life", and behind the band was a big video screen, and each side of the stage had a small platform with an American flag. 3 Doors Down continued with "It’s Not My Time" and a full set of hits and crowd favorites.
