PLANET DESERT ROCK WEEKEND Finale at Beauty Bar in Vegas

Planet Desert Rock Weekend was just as it was advertised - no fillers, just a great metal and rock show, and thats exactly what we witnessed on night three of this fantastic music event, that was unbelievable from start to finish. The Beauty Bar is an outdoor venue and it was a cold night, but they had a couple heaters outside and the bands were red hot, and so was the crowd. Night three was headlined with a rare west coast appearance by WO FAT out of Dallas Tx, who have played at many of the top festivals of this type all over the world. Joining them was a band we were looking forward to seeing again, SASQUATCH made their return to Vegas, and this band keeps getting better and better. FREEDOM HAWK from Virginia brought their brand of stoner rock to this event, and wowed the crowd with it’s duel guitar based songs, and were one of the best bands of the evening.

Also on the bill was POWDERED WIG MACHINE, who are the epitome of the desert rock sound, and my fav band of the evening, BLACKWULF from Oakland CA, a heavy rocking band who came out swinging and never stopped. RED DESERT, who actually kicked off the show, is a stoner rock, doom and gloom band who were great at setting the tone for things to come, and a great companion for local favs STRANGE MISTRESS, who showed we actually have a desert stoner band of our own who can hold their weight with the bigger names. The show started around 6pm and went on until nearly 2am, and may have been one of the best shows at the Beauty Bar, and we have to congratulate promotor John Gist and Vegas Rock Revolution for putting on an amazing event. and a big thanks to the Beauty Bar on hosting this! A great night and a great line up, and we look forward to more events like these.
