Double Bill at BB&B and FCC with GWAR, SACRED REICH, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, AGAINST THE GRAIN, ENFORC

This was an amazing bargain for fans who attended - you got to see two shows on two different stages for the cost of just one ticket. The Fremont Country Club is the larger of the two venues and hosted the GWAR show wth support, and the Backstage, Bar & Billiards that is connected hosted Enforcer and more. There were eight bands performing, and it ran like a small festival, with bands going on alternately approximately every 30 minutes and alternating stages.

We were thrilled to see our local friends in d.i.M on the lineup, and Against the Grain who kicked off the FCC side, and set the tone with a great set of thrash, punk and doom. Following them was the band Toxic Holocaust, who performed a brutal thrash set that opened up the first pit in the FCC. This band was a fan fav this night, and then fans headed back into Triple B’s for Tyrants By Night locals were playing this show, a solid band who got the crowd fired up with their hard rocking style. These guys are one of the more established local bands and always put on a killer show. Sacred Reich really got the night into high gear on the FCC side, one of the best that performed on this show.

The band that got the biggest crowd reaction of the night, Warbringer stormed the Triple B's stage and the crowd erupted into a wall to wall mosh pit. Bodies were flying everywhere and when people tried to crowd surf towards the stage they would get pushed back into the crowd to keep surfing. This was the most brutal set of the entire show, and it showed as the fans went absolutely crazy for the band’s entire set.

We fought our way through the crowd and headed back inside the FCC to get ready for GWAR, and the crowd pushed toward the barricade at the front. We noticed the security were prepared by wearing yellow rain gear to try and protect themselves from what was about to happen, and the blood started squirting from the very start of the set. The band in their monster outfits barely fit on the stage, and at times had to scoot sideways when exiting and entering between songs. One character was called Caitlyn Jenner who was pregnant, and GWAR announced that they were going to help deliver the baby, and soon were ripping open the innards of Caitlyn and more blood flew everywhere. They pulled out the baby, which also began squirting blood all over the crowd. In spite of all the gore and effects, GWAR is actually a very good band, and also have some of the best comedy going on of any band out there. By the end of their set the crowd looked like they worked in a slaughterhouse, with most covered from head to toe in blood.

The last band of the evening was Enforcer from Sweden, an old school sounding metal band that is on Nuclear Blast Records, and everything about them screams vintage 80’s metal in the mode of Judas Priest or Anvil. Enforcer brought a blistering set to close out the night, and

The show ended well past midnight, and as the fans covered in blood filed out onto the streets it was funny seeing the faces of the tourists walking by and wondering what the hell went on inside the venue. A big thanks to the Fremont Country Club and Triple B’s along with Smash Magazine and Pulsar Radio Presents for presenting a helluva double bill for a great price.
