DRAIN IS YOUR FRIEND RIDES THE WAVES AT HOUSE OF BLUES with HAYWIRE, NO PRESSURE and SECRET WORLD

WHO'S HAVING FUN??? DRAIN crashed into the House of Blues like a tidal wave, with a surf lesson for us all. Watch out for that shark.

The show got started with Secret World, hardcore from down under, with members of post Speed, Downside, and Hand of Mercy, with a melodic take on Aussie punk with their 2024 debut EP Guilt Is Good and their second EP Tomorrow Is A Mystery To Me in late 2025.

Secret World came in hot with "The Way It Goes" and the crowd got rowdy from the first refrain. The set was a mix of the two EP releases, and included the new single "It Hurts" while the surfing started to roll. Keep an eye out, they punch hard. More HERE.

Highwire (617) kicked the crowd in the face, with vocalist Austin Sparkman (Conservative Military Image, Rude Awakening, The Chisel) firing at the crowd with fast no nonsense Boston punches - classic hardcore, and the crowd reacted immediately, the bodies flowing and circling the floor. The place went huts. And stayed that way.

Haywire released their debut album Conditioned For Demolition in 2024, and a just released 2026 split LP New England Forever, with songs from Dropkick Murphys and Haywire and collabs. We got "The Boys are Back" in the set. Pure chaos.

No Pressure's Cali pop-punk band kept up a different energy after the pummeling from Haywire, with a fun set that didn't come close to stopping the surfing. Parker Cannon of The Story So Far led the way, the band started as a side project for Cannon to focus on a fast raw punk sound. Succeeded - the set was fun and pumped, with the fans screaming back on "Both Sides" and "Too Far" from their first record, the self titled No Pressure, and we got a couple new singles from a possible upcoming new record this year...? Keep up with the news on No Pressure HERE.

Drain is your friend. And they are here to tell you so in a very loud, chaotic, blasting, interactive way.

As soon as Sammy Ciaramitaro hit the self built beach stage (complete with shark mascot moshing the way), the HOB exploded into a screaming frenzy of mosh, surf and sound. "Free the Pressure" blasted the crowd with in your face thrash, with their "posi-vibe" hardcore take creating the weirdest wildest fun in the sun you'll get in a mosh pit. This band brings the craziest energy and fun to a hardcore show, from bodies flying to wall of death to Ciaramitaro riding a surfboard into the moshing crowd... it is a sight to behold as well as see.

Drain's new album ...Is Your Friend was released late 2025 (Epitaph Records), and the set was a hard mix of those and California Sun cuts, and we got a cover of Descendants' "Good, Good Things" to boot. The fans got to sing a lot of that, with Ciaramitaro all in the crowd... a hugely interactive ballistic ridiculously fun show. GO SEE THEM. More on Drain and the new record HERE.
