Eyes Set To Kill is out on the road celebrating the 15 year anniversary of their landmark album Broken Frames, on a headlining stop in Las Vegas at the Swan Dive with guests Stitched up Heart and Lauren Babic, who have all been collaborating this year and make a great tour lineup. Also on the bill was Vegas' Crashing Wayward and Reno based Split Persona to make for a full night and varied line up of music. Unfortunately for this show Lauren Babic was under the weather, and was not able to perform for the show - we wish a speedy recovery.
SPLIT PERSONA was formed back in 2019 while these guys were still in high school. Today they are making a name for themselves with their high energy stage shows and some pretty decent songs. Singer, guitarist, songwriter Zander Hoschak really engages with the crowd, and even left the stage and played in the middle of what was the mosh pit. They received some high praise from friends Crashing Wayward, who told the crowd that Split Persona was their fav local band. If you love high energy rock then these guys are for you. I have covered CRASHING WAYWARD many times in the past and they are one of my personal favorites. They were done with dates for the year, but then jumped at the opportunity to play when this show came around. When the band hit the stage I noticed right away that there were some new members, and maybe sounded a bit heavier than shows I have caught in the past.
Peter Summit fronts this band, with David Harris on guitar, who really helps shapes the sound of this band, which presents a tight, solid pure rock n roll show. I see nothing but big things ahead. More on Crashing Wayward HERE
I was looking forward to seeing STITCHED UP HEART once again on this return to Vegas. They are led by the dynamic Alecia 'Mixi' Demner, who always blows me away with her vocal talent and presence, from the opening "To The Wolves", to new single "Sick Sick SIck", that was just released this month on Judge & Jury Records, featuring Eyes Set To Kill & Lauren Babic on the track (there's the collab link we talked about). Alexia from Eyes Set to Kill came out to join Alecia on the song, and the fans loved it.
Stitched Up Heart rounds out with Merritt Goodwin in guitar, Randy Mathias on bass, and newcomer Delaney Jaster on drums - their set was short but powerful, and the crowd really reacted to each and every song. Check out more music with Stitched Up Heart HERE and merch HERE.
It's been a long time since I have seen EYES SET TO KILL, who hail from Tempe, led by sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez, with guitarist Jeremy Anderson and drummer Caleb Clifton. The band opened with “All You Ever Knew” from Broken Frames, and played a varied set that included songs from several of their albums including the tour namesake, and the fans that came out also got to hear their newest track, “Wilderness” that was released last year, as well as a never before live "Falling Fast".
Alexia (clean vocals, guitar) has a beautiful voice that really sounded on point, that contrasted with the power of Anderson on the unclean vocals for a heavy mix. Will there be a new album in the future? A new single and the tour is a good start. They're back.
