The LORDS OF ACID PRAISE THE LORDS show in Las Vegas had a certain buzz that only a final night of a tour can generate, it was going to be a gigantic party at the Area15 entertainment complex. There was a sexually charged atmosphere in the room with lots of skin showing, the lineup and the finale show.

Kicking off the evening was DJ ALLEY KAT is a Vegas based corporate and club based DJ who kicked off the night, dressed in a topless pregnant nun outfit she took center stage to spin her set. The set was catchy and near the end she ad to male singers come out and perform a song with her. She did a great job of getting the crowd hyped up and set the tone for the hot night.

LUCIA CIFARELLI from the industrial band KMFDM, and performed her set to tracked music and her overlying vocals blew me away. Dressed in an all black she looked stunning while walking back and forth on the center catwalk that extended out from the stage. Her solo music is more dance than her industrial KMFDM setting, and the crowd was dancing away and really getting into her show. My fav song was the haunting "Lights Out" off her recently released album titled, No God Here. You can catch everything about what Lucia is up to HERE.
LITTLE MISS NASTY has a long history of performing in Vegas, and has had residency at Area15. Led by Gina Katon (Gina and the Eastern Block) , this is a sex driven performance arts dance troupe who has taken the world by storm with its rock n roll high energy sexually charged show.
This time around there were some lineup changes and new additions, and the girls were on fire in their Vegas home stage. The dance numbers are fast and furious, you get some burlesque, dance, acrobatics, and more. They push the boundaries on what they do, and keep it fresh and hold your attention in anticipation of what you may see next. Little Miss Nasty is sexy, talented and unique, and find out more about this talented group HERE.
Finally it was time for highly anticipated LORDS of ACID Praise The Lords featuring the debut of the newest acid queen, CARLA HARVEY (formerly Butcher Babies). I have seen the last two singers, Mia Fisher & Marieke Bresseleers, both did outstanding jobs, and Carla blew me away. Everyone was talking about Carla before their show and really excited to see her in this new role. She has always been one of the more visually stunning female metal performers I have seen through her years, but this was sexually charged industrial dance infused music and she was perfect for the role. Carla looked happy and really got into her role as the new acid queen, with a little headbanging thrown in, bringing in new fans to the Lords camp from her metal notoriety.
Lords was formed back in 1988 by Praka Khan who was really a pioneer of acid dance music, and has weathered many lineup and vocalist changes throughout the decades - on this tour in addition to Carla on vocals, had a stellar lineup and was joined by Galen Wailing (Julian K) on drums, bassist DieTrich Thrall, and Creighton Emrick on guitar. The band opened up with "Voodoo-U" while Carla came running out wearing a low cut one piece black outfit with her long blue tinged hair flying all over the place. Her energy was infectious as the band continued on with “Do What You Wanna Do” as the dance party really went wild. The set was heavy on cuts from Voodoo-U, the 1994 album that really put them on the industrial tech dance map, but had a good mix from the two decades since. One of the highlights of their set for me, was “Rubber Doll” from where the band tossed blow up dolls into the crowd and they went flying over like beach balls during the rest of the show.
For the song “Pussy”, Carla welcomed any and all in the crowd to join her onstage, and the fans clamored to get up and dance with her. This was Lords of Acid at their finest, and Carla reenergizing the band for this new tour. Great fun and a fabulous dance party, and I look forward to the new album the band has in the works for a 2025 release, featuring Carla on vocals.
