The OXYMORRONS are an American rock / rap group from Queens, New York, consisting of brothers Demi “Deee” Bellevue and Kami “Ki” Bellevue, along with animated drummer Matty Mayz and talented guitarist Jafe Paulino. This group by far brought the most
energy to the stage of any band during the entire G2 event for me. From the moment they hit the stage until their last song this band hardly ever stood still, their sound, though different than the other bands on the lineup for the night, was unique - it was both rock and rap and was all played live, not taped like other acts of this kind.
The band told a brief story of how their unique spelling of their name came about... Another band had the name Oxymorons and this band asked about acquiring the rights to that name, long story short, they could have it for $25,000. Now Oxymorrons is a struggling band just starting their careers and in no way had that kind of money, so they declined the band's offer. So they came up with the idea to add another R to their name and asked the crowd do you know why? Because R’s are FREE, which had the crowd laughing at how simple it was to get around the issue. A crowd favorite and a blast to see live, OXYMORRONS was a winner.
