The Smashing Pumpkins had a night off from the Saviors Tour with Green Day, and treated Las Vegas to a headlining World Is A Vampire date at the new BleauLive Theater at the Fontainebleau, a show that touched on their decades long music and catalog.
The show also featured new member and guitarist Kiki Wong, who joined this tour after Jeff Schroeder leaving the band in late 2023. Wong really gave the lineup a visual boost for the live show, adding an edge to the touring lineup of Billy Corgan, original guitarist and cofounder James Iha, original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and the addition of touring bassist Jack Bates (Peter Hook's son and bass player for The Light) and keyboardist Katie Cole.
The setlist kicked off with "The Everlasting Gaze", and was basically a greatest hits, but did include a couple newer songs - “That Which Animates The Spirit“ from last years ATUM: A Rock Opera, and “Sighommi” the first single from this years album Aghori Mhori Mei, a return from the rock opera back to their guitar driven sound. Highlights included "Tonight", "1979" and wrapped up with a ferocious "Zero".
The Pumpkins only have one date left on The Savior tour, but will have more dates headlining with The World is a Vampire in November as they head to South America and more. Find out more on tour dates HERE.
