The USED packed the Fremont 3rd Street Stage with thousands of fans for a free show, a Downtown Rocks Summer Series Finale like no other. The street was packed as far as the eye could see, with a backdrop of casino bright lights, zipline riders, and hands high in the air for the show.

SILKOBRA did a quick groovy synth-pop set before the main act, a brand new duo project of Kameron Biehl and Zach Callahee, that came about while they were working as road tech for The Used, going from behind the scenes to center stage. The duo became the official opening band for their late 2026 tour dates, and got the crowd charged up with a few numbers and looked like they were having a blast. No music to stream yet, but follow and SILKOBRA insta to see what's happening with these two.

The USED has been on tour throughout 2025 celebrating 25 years of their first three albums, and this year continuing the momentum. The Vegas date brought out thousands to hear a set that started with "Pretty Handsome Awkward" from Lies for The Liars, and the set stuck close to the first three records, but threw in a extra heavy hitters with "Fuck You", "Blow Me" and "Blood on My Hands". The show was a nostalgic walk through the band's early years, and just so much love from the crowd as they sang every line to "Take It Away", "All That I've Got" and "The Taste of Ink".

It was crazy how pumped up the crowd was, and the vibe was just joy, singing and screaming and even a little rain mid way, but that didn't put even a hint of a damper on the energy and the fun. All good things must come to an end, and "A Box Full of Sharp Objects" was a fitting wrap up to the Vegas set. What a ride.

It's been a few years since The Used put out their last record Toxic Positivity, but word is they are teaming up with Grammy-winning producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight) to record their next studio album, a record that vocalist Bert McCracken says will be a "back to basics" effort, and slated for a 2027 release.
