UNCLE ACID & THE DEADBEATS TRIP THE LIGHT AT AREA15 WITH GUESTS MESSA

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats hit the Area15 Portal on a Friday night ready and brought a wall of sound, with support from Italian doom metalers Messa. The area15 big room with surround video was the perfect choice for this sound and visual experience.

Messa was insanely impressive with a blend of doom and smoky jazz, and vocalist Sara Bianchin's powerful vocal range; etherial at times and then crescendoing and commanding the entire room, along with the incredible guitar work of Alberto Piccolo. The band calls their unusual sound "scarlet doom", combining dark heavy riffs with a jazz ambiance.

Messa released their most recent album The Spin in 2025 (Metal Blade Records), a harder-hitting gothic opus with the centerpiece single "The Dress". The crowd was mesmerized, and the gloomy smoky room at Area15 kept the aesthetic as Bianchin's vocals reached growly lows and wails as high as the ceiling. More on the band HERE.

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats brought a kaleidoscope of light and sound to Vegas at Area15, with a throbbing psychedelic metal set that crushed at the Portal. Their heavy, HEAVY stoner doom show led by "uncle" Kevin Starrs was filled with Sabbath-esque riffs and cult horror aesthetic, a truly eccentric and macabre experience, and the Portal with their surround visual screen provided the perfect background for and immersive feel.

The band's vintage 70's proto metal low-fi tonality and pulp fiction lyrics set them apart from most doom metal, with what has been called "Beatles meets Sabbath" with melodic dual vocals over the weighty fuzz.

Uncle Acid just released their seventh studio album, Shapes of Midnight, through their own Killer Candy Records label, partly inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's The Masque of the Red Death, and plays on their classic doom sound and 70's style high pitch vocals and harmonies and battling guitars.
