One-Eyed Doll kicked off their 2017 Something Wicked World Tour with a free show at Count’s Vamp’d on Wednesday September 27th along with openers Doll Skin and Co-Op. Starting the show was the band Co-Op out of Phoenix Az, a young rocking band that was a good choice to kick the evening off. The last time I saw this next band it was 117 outside and they were playing the Vans Warped Tour earlier this past summer.

Doll Skin is a very talented group of young female musicians also out of Phoenix, these girls are the real deal and just keep getting better and better each time we see them. There is not a weak link in this band, and the girls seem to have a bond you don’t see in too many young lineups. Doll Skin sound is at times punk and others hard rock, and is composed of Sydney Dolezal - lead vocals, rhythm guitar, Alex Snowden - lead guitar, backing vocals, Nicole Rich - bass, backing vocals, and Meghan Herring - drums, backing vocals. In 2016 the band won the Heavy Metal Television Awards for "Breakout Band Of The Year "and "Favorite Female Fronted Band Of The Year." Fun, young and talented this band has everything going for them.

Now it was time for a Las Vegas favorite - One-Eyed Doll, a talented duo hails from Austin, Tx. The band consists of Kimberly Freeman on guitar and vocals and Jason Rufuss Sewell, and the bands sound is a mix of goth, punk and horror. Kimberly is the main focus of the group and knows how to work the crowd, constantly interacting with fans. She even jumped into the crowd and played her guitar while laying on the floor, and would drink water and spit it all over people. Maybe too interactive lol. One-Eyed Doll's stage set was right out of a horror movie, with skulls, cauldrons and haunted trees covering the entire stage at Vamp’d. Kimberly constantly changes her head gear during the show while in a high whiney voice tells stories about LSD and such. Their music has been featured in movies, commercials and video games. This was another solid night of great music at one of the best rock clubs in Vegas! Thanks to Vamp'd Vegas for always bringing great music into Vegas scene.
