CARCASS NORTH AMERICAN PUTREFACTION TOUR 2025 WITH SPECIAL GUESTS BRUJERIA - NECROT - HEDONIST at HOB LV

ree

This was not a show for the weak, as one of the best all time death metal bands CARCASS returned to the House Of Blues inside of Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for their North American Putrefaction Tour. Carcass was supported by even more mania with Brujeria, Necrot and Hedonist.

Opening up the show from Victoria B.C. was the band HEDONIST. Talk about BRUTAL, this band made me take a step back so I was really sure what I was actually hearing. Vocalist / bassist JP just might have the most guttural voice I have ever heard from a female singer. Add the piercing screams make her stand out in the new female fronted death metal scene. I LOVED this band and hope to see them again in the near future.

A good friend of mine told me that the next band, NECROT, was one of the best bands he has seen in recent years. Vocalist / bassist  Luco Indrio asked the crowd who was "under 25?" If you are then get in the f-n circle pit". The pit was like the band, fast and brutal. The band hails from Oakland and have been together since 2011. This band is traditional old school death metal and killed with this set in Vegas.

It's been awhile since I have seen BRUJERIA, and I remember their shows were crazy but was blown away by the power this band projects now. New vocalist Henry "El Sangrón" Sanchez spoke mostly in Spanish with a small amount of English thrown in every now and then. The band's name means 'witchcraft', and they sing about satanism, drugs and politics, especially immigration, and Henry made it know his feeling about this, as he told the crowd FUCK ICE.

Crowd surfing started rolling heavy during the band's set, and Juan asked if anyone in the crowd had some weed? A fan tossed him a joint and said his drummer would try it out - If it is good they will stay, if not they are out of here lol. The band is fun, and vicious, but connect with the fans and made a great set.

Brujeria lost 2 members in 2024, as Pinche Peach passed away in July and founding vocalist Juan Brujo passed away in September. The band now tours and tributes members who have passed on. A solid set by Brujeria who continues the legacy in honor of their fallen brothers.

CARCASS was formed way back in 1985 and hail from Liverpool, England. True giants in the death metal genre, Carcass is a band who has always delivered a killer set, they keep playing non stop with a sound that just envelops the entire venue. Jeff Walker led the band into a metal montage of their catalogue, started off the show with "Unfit For Human Consumption" followed by "Buried Dreams", and played a 16 song set that showcased graphic videos playing behind them showing mutilated bodies, surgeries, and infected penises. Good times.

There were crazy mosh pits and crowd surfing as expected for Carcass' set, and the crowd was at the barricade head banging with horns in the air. Jeff Walker on bass and vocals, Bill Steer vocals and guitar, Daniel Wilding drums, and James 'Nip' Blackford on guitar create a wall of metal, and this tour shows the band's longevity and how much the fans love them. One of my all time favorite bands, go see Carcass, they always deliver.
