JINJER was back in Las Vegas again this fall at the House of Blues, his time around they brought along metalcore bands HANABIE and BORN of OSIRIS.
BORN of OSIRIS kicked off the metal melee for the night, a metalcore band who hails from Palatine, Illinois, and consists of Cameron Losch on drums, Ronnie Canizaro on lead vocals, Lee McKinney lead guitar and Nick Rossi on bass. The band most recent album Angel or Alien was released in 2021, and has since release several new singles (hopefully for an upcoming release, most recently "Elevate." from earlier this year, that made the set. A solid start for the night, check out more on the band HERE.
I had no idea what to expect from the band HANABIE, but as soon as the band hit the stage I were like “WHOA” - the energy this band has is unlike anything I have seen in a long time. This talented all female 'Harajuku-Core' band from Tokyo, Japan is a breath of fresh air in the music scene, and immediately won over the crowd as they were totally blown away too. Dressed in colorful Harajuku outfits this band was not only musically fantastic, but visually they were amazing to see.
Highly energetic Yukina on vocals came out weaning neon running back and forth waving an American flag and got a huge roar from the crowd, and can go from melodic vocals to down right guttural screams in an instant. She never stands still and is either running back and forth or doing unbelievable high jumps off the platforms that rivals Randy Blythe. Along with Matsuri on guitar, Hettsu on bass and Chika on drums, Hanabie was by far the most fun show I have seen in years. What a act to follow. Check out more on the band HERE
JINJER once again gave a blistering performance, opening their set with "Just Another", and vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk looked great, her hair is now near her waist line and she wore a black top that was mesh in the middle and a bright yellow skirt. Tatiana is in a class all her own, and has set the bar for the new class of female vocalists in the metal scene the past few years. Her vocal range is unlike any other female singer, and she has quite an amazing voice when she is not eliciting her famous vocal growls.
The band's stage setup had eight tall and narrow video screens and a bunch of strobe lights facing the crowd and really set off a dark and progressive look to complement the band's metalcore set, and we were treated to two new songs this time around with “Someone's Daughter”, that talks about the path that women are choosing that have traditionally been just for men, and another new song “Rogue”, both from what seems their highly anticipated fifth studio album, to be released via Napalm Records in Winter 2025.
Ukraninans Jinjer, along with Roman Ibramkhalilov on guitars, Eugene Abdukhanov on bass and Vladislav Ulasevich on drums, gave Vegas a truly great in-your-face show, and we continue to hear the evolution of where Jinjer is going on their musical journey. The set culminated in their fierce encore of "Vortex", and the crowd just roared. Their stage presence and music keep getting better and better, and absolutely can't wait for a new album in 2025. Keep up with the news and album info HERE.
