Once again one of the best thrash bands in the world returned to Vegas and this time headlined at the fantastic Brooklyn Bowl! OVERKILL brought the heat to Las Vegas with he Scorching the Earth World Tour and the Brooklyn Bowl was a fire pit of mosh and metal. Opening up the show were two local bands, MADZILLA & SILENT THORNE, who lit the fuse to get the party started.

SILENT THRONE is a very solid metalcore/ rock band that brings great energy and a loyal fan base with them. Formerly Haddonfield, the band has undergone a rebranding of sorts, with new name and new music in the works. This was their 2026 debut show with the new moniker, and they have a new song "Break Away" out on bandcamp HERE. More on Silent Throne HERE.

Following was MADZILLA, who always delivers a solid show and is a favorite in Vegas. This was my first time seeing them on a big stage and they did not let me down. Madzilla regularly tours all over South America, founded by David Cabezas on guitar and vocals, the amazing Sarah Dugdale on lead guitar, Courtney Lourenco on drums and Thomas Palmer on bass, and they bring melodic thrash mania to the stage with a heavy following in the Vegas area. Check out their new single "Angel Genocide", and more on Madzilla HERE.

Finally it was time for the band everyone came to see - OVERKILL. Overkill has been around since 1980 and is led by Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth on lead vocals, Carlo “DD” Verni on bass, Dave Linsk lead guitar and Jeraime Kling on drums. I can honestly say that even after 46 years of thrash vocals, Bobby’s voice sounds as strong as ever, and you cannot overlook the massive contribution that lead guitarist Dave Linsk brings to this band. He is the sound that makes this band one of the best thrash bands ever.

The band opened up with the 2023 song “Scorched” from their 2023 album (Nuclear Blast), a song really gives you a glimpse of what Overkill is and their longevity as a thrash icon. Overkill has always brought the metal, but never got caught up in taking themselves too seriously, loving what they do and it shows. Bobby told the crowd that it’s because of (the fans) that for the last 40+ years they have got to live on the road and be complete assholes, and he thanks them for that.

Overkill is still banging heads after 40+ years and 20 albums, with no slowing down for this band. While still touring the "Scorched" Album tour, the band is working on new music with a possible album in late 2026 or 2027 - keep up with the news and new music HERE
