TOADIES CHARM IN LAS VEGAS with LOCAL H and OLIVE VOX at Brooklyn Bowl LV

TOADIES are back on the road and this time its in support of their first album in nearly 10 years titled “The Charmer”. Supporting them on this tour is the alternative band LOCAL H and the high energy young band out of Dallas, OLIVE VOX and they all really rocked the Brooklyn Bowl in September.

Opening up the show, out of Dallas TX, was the alt rock band OLIVE VOX. It seemed odd to me that two bands that have been around for 40+ years had a group of really young members opening up the show. I talked with a fan who was from out of town, and he said Toadies have done this in the past and love giving exposure to young up and coming bands.

Olive Vox is composed of brothers Parker James and Caden Shea on vocals and guitar, Ben Reid on bass and Dayton Phillips on drums. With the band's high energy punk grunge sound a mosh pit opened up on the floor to "Hear Me Out" and "Black and White". Olive Vox is signed to Big Machine Rock, an imprint of Big Machine Label Group, and released their debut EP, Trace It Back, this September. Four guys from Texas just living the dream - catch music and more HERE.

The last time I saw LOCAL H was back in July of 2016, and I remembered they were soooo good, so I made it a point to catch them on this run with Toadies. The band has been around now for 37 years and show no signs of slowing down. They still have that punk / alternative sound thing, and this time around it was Scott Lucas on vocals and guitar and Ryan Harding on drums. Local H is best known for their big hit “Bound For the Floor”, and it was a hit with the crowd, everyone singing at the top of their lungs. At the end of their set Toadies bassist Doni Blair joined the band onstage for the song “Manifest Destiny”, to a roar. The crowd LOVED this band and so did I - It’s great to see a band from the early 90’s still with the energy and attitude that made them famous in the first place.

Local H’s newest release is the 30th anniversary remastered vinyl and CD edition of their hit record“As Good As Dead”, check it our and more HERE.

The Toadies' concert on October 2, 2026, at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas brought a massive 22-song performance tracking their entire 37-year history, starting with "Ash's Theme" from their new 2026 album The Charmer, produced by the late Steve Albini. Another newbie, “I Call Your Name” is also from the album, where drummer Mark Reznicek left the stage and Vaden Lewis, Clark Vogeler and Doni Blair jam together for the song.

Their big hit, ‘Possum Kingdom” was f-n epic to hear live and had the crowd back in the mosh pit, and is a song will never get old and transports you back to the 90’s and MTV. During the band's encore they did a cover of “I Put A Spell On You” and were joined by Scott Lucas from Local H to really bring down the house.

The Charmer was released in May, and features 13 tracks which Vanden Lewis describes and back to their roots with raw live energy. They told the crowd that when you sign a record contract you are actually signing a loan, and that the record company owns all your songs and masters and you don’t make a dime until you pay them back. So for this new album, they saved their money and financed their new CD and tour themselves so that they own their music. They thanked the fans for their support in making this record possible.
