A SKYLIT DRIVE 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR WITH SPECIAL GUESTS SCARLETT O’ HARA / SUNSLEEP

A SKYLIT DRIVE brought their 15 year anniversary tour to The Space in Las Vegas on a Wednesday night touring in celebration of their iconic album Wires…and the Concept of Breathing. On this stop opening the show was SUNSLEEP and SCARLETT O’ HARA.

Being this was a school night, this was an early show at The Space with doors at 7 and the show starting at 7:30. SUNSLEEP, a melodic alternative band out of Dallas, is touring in support of their CD Stolen Crown, about how your actions define who you are. It was too bad the crowd was slow to arrive, some missed a very good set. This band grows on you and the more you listen to them the more you connect.

Metalcore band SCARLETT O’ HARA from Mcallen Texas was playing their first time in Vegas, and turned up the energy. In the past few years the band has changed vocalists and now fronting the band is the charismatic and engaging Moises Lopez Jr. who was all over the place, even jumping off the stage and going into the crowd and creating a huge mosh pit in the middle of the band's set. The band can be melodic at times but also very brutal sounding, and was my favorite band of the night, as we gravitate towards the more hardcore bands and this band certainly fits the bill.

Closing out the early night was A SKYLIT DRIVE. The band played their album Wires…and the Concept of Breathing in its entirety like it’s never been performed before. The band hails from Lodi, Ca and is led by vocalist Michael Jagmin who took control after the death of original vocalist Jordan Blake. The band's sound is post-hardcore with high pitched vocals. The crowd was really into what the band brought to the stage, and everyone was excited and the fans were singing and having a great timethey wove their way through their set. When you have a band like this who the fans are rabid about, this makes for the best kind of nights and makes all the hard work these bands put into their shows worthwhile.
